THE NAIROBI ACTION AGENDA ON AFRICA’S ECOSYSTEM BASED ADAPTATION FOR FOOD SECURITY

Published in EBAFOSA

EBAFOSA implementation is strategically categorized into 3 phases, with each subsequent phase building on a preceding one. The introductory phase is the most-crucial, ground-breaking phase, where commitment of vital stakeholders, who will be part of the backbone, foundational structure of EBAFOSA will have to be established. In implementing these phases, envisaged activities will be centered on two levels - strategic and the operational levels.

The above is achieved through the EBAFOSA modus operandi. EBAFOSA modus operandi is premised on fomenting voluntary mutually beneficial partnerships among complementary actors to bridge policy & operational gaps towards establishing EBA based agro-industrial zones powered by clean energy with efficient linkages to markets & supply chains of products / inputs e.g. organic fertilizer, clean energy technologies etc., & services e.g. advisory, financial intermediation, standardization etc.

Country Branches as cells of Innovation and Partnerships

EBAFOSA applies a hub strategy where country branches, the “EBAFOSA country bureaus or National Branches” register local, continental and global actors within the country, and facilitate their interactions and partnership, building through a range of country level networking and exchange activities. These partnerships are further enriched by inter-country interactions and partnerships that are facilitated by the continental coordinating secretariat through a series of continental level exchange and networking activities.
